I know it is a day late, however this weeks Friday five from RevGal Pals is a real good one so I had to play. For more goclick on the rev gal pals link on the side bar.
1.Our prayer concerns are as varied as we are this day. For whom would you like us to pray?
Children.
2.Are there things you have done or will do today to help the young ones understand this important day in our lives?
On thursday we had our easter liturgy at school. We did the stations of the cross in kids language was very poignant. I speant the afternoon with some senior kids talking about Jesus from the Psalms and talking about his awesomeness from the message translation
3.Music plays an important part in sharing the story of this day. Is there a hymn or piece of music that you have found particularly meaningful to your celebrations of Good Friday?
Beautiful Scandelous Night – Robbie Seay Band (it is a remake of someone) anyway the song talks about going up to the mountain where we were justified. the song also talks about atonement and starts with the sounds of children’s voices in the background.
4.As you hear the passion narrative, is there a character that you particularly resonate with?
Yeah as I was reading this at Easter Liturgy on Good Friday I really resonated with the Crowd.
5.Where have you seen the gracious God of love at work lately?
-
In the smiles of children
-
In the humour of children
-
In God providing people to give me comfort and encouragement
-
In particular children and the way they are developing , characterwise!

Oh..just the phrase “Beautiful Scandalous Night” is goosebumpy. (and yes, that’s a technical word there.) I’ll have to find a recording of it, can’t wait to hear it.
Wish you’d explained resonating with the Crowd. I’m interested in that idea.
Thanks for swinging by my ticking clock and offering the encouragement. I appreciate it!

Hey Lisa, Love the post. I can really really see where your passion lies. Man I love easter, it is soo soo good to be given free reign on eating chocolate! But I also love easter for its spiritual meaning. For what Jesus has done for us. It will keep my brain spinning my whole life I think.

In case you are curious, “beautiful scandalous night” was written by Steve Hindalong and Derri Daugherty of the Choir. Originally off their 1992 album, which I don’t have, it’s is also on their 1997 live album “llet it fly” which has a really cool version of it. Steve Hindalong is the guy who produced (and wrote much of) the city on a hill series of albums (in which derri daugherty also features a fair bit)
just chcked wikipedia for more info – the choir re-recorded it for their 2002 release, and also it featured in city on a hill 3 performed by bebo norman and sixpence none the richer.
Beautiful, reflective piece of music and lyrics- I haven’t heard the robbie seay band version but may have to track it down
