Blessed are the meat eaters: Christian Antivegetarianism and the Missionary Encounter with Chinese Buddhism – who would have thought that someone would have speant their time writing an article on this?! I Mean really!

On much more serious matters I want to totally congratulate George Clooney on his stand he and Nobel Peace laureate Elie Wiesel took yesterday on Sudan he took at the UN. SUDAN MATTERS !!

In case you missed some of George’s fantastic quotes here you go:

”I’m here to represent the voices of the people who cannot speak for themselves. We know how difficult a task this is… but you are the UN and this is the task that you have been given. It is the first genocide of the 21st century and if it continues unchecked, it will not be the last. How you deal with it is your legacy. It’s your Rwanda, your Cambodia, your Auschwitz. We are one ‘yes’ away from ending it.”

So after September 30, you won’t need the UN. You will simply need men with shovels and bleached white linen and headstones,” he warned the 15-member council.
“Now, my job is to come here today and to beg you, on behalf of the millions of people who will die – and make no mistake they will die – for you to take real and effective measures to put an end to this,”

“Of course, it’s complex but when you see entire villages raped and killed, wells poisoned and then filled with the bodies of its villagers, then all complexities disappear and it comes down to simply right and wrong.

“It’s not getting better. It’s getting much, much worse, and it is only the international community that can help …”

George was talking at proceedings to the UN and urging them to send in UN peacekeepers. The 30 septemmber is when African Union peacekeepers leave the region. There are 2.5 million refugees there.
